The SUU BZI Youth Engineering Academy seeks enthusiastic Summer Camp Teachers to deliver
engaging STEM and creative classes including- ScratchJr, Scratch, Lego Robotics, Vex Robotics,
Theater, Sphero Robotics, Bridges, Rockets, cryptography, 3D printing/laser cutting, web
development,Python.
Teachers will lead one or two 3-hour daily classes (Monday-Friday) and/or
6-hour classes (Monday-Wednesday) with support from 1-2 Classroom Assistants.
Responsibilities include
Supervising staff, ensuring student safety, developing lesson plans from the YEA curriculum, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Teachers will also attend staff trainings and maintain an inviting atmosphere for students and parents. Join us in inspiring the next generation of innovators and creators!
Camp Age Groups: 1st-3rd, 4th-6th, 7th-9th, 10th-12 grade

Responsibilities:
Teach 1-2 three-hour classes Monday–Friday or 1 six-hour class Monday–Wednesday throughout the program. Each instructor will have 1-2 Classroom Assistants for each class.
Supervise the support staff and volunteers in the classroom in a manner that is team-based,
inclusive, and respectful.
Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision and effective arrangement of space.
Formulate lesson plans from the YEA curriculum provided after hire and during staff orientation, aligning them with SUU YEA objectives and philosophy, while collaborating daily with Program Classroom Assistants to develop and coordinate lesson plans and educational support
activities for effective instruction.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and/or planning sessions as needed
Provide a positive atmosphere for all students
Maintain a tidy, pleasant, inviting atmosphere in which children feel comfortable and secure, and parents feel welcome and reassured.
Perform other duties as assigned by Site Directors or Program Coordinators.
Qualifications:
- Passion for STEM, creative disciplines, and working with 1st-12th grade students.
- Prior teaching or instructional experience is preferred.
- Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with classroom assistants and volunteers.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
